Notes:  See also "Towards a women's safety strategy for South Australia - supporting documentation" on our Research & Resources database.
Presents the results of consultation by 300 workers and community members in February 2004 to develop a whole-of-government policy document which would ensure women’s safety in South Australia. The discussion paper provides a framework so that policy development and service provision will be consistent across government departments and encourage successful partnerships between government and non-government sectors. Document defines violence against women, lists guiding values and principles and proposes four key policy directions: prevention of violence against women, provision of services to those in need, protection for women experiencing violence and performance monitoring and evaluation of the women’s safety strategy. Feedback is requested and a reply sheet included.
