| Notes: | The author suggests that a deconstructive examination of contemporary male genderisation through a lens of ecology might offer fresh insights into why men embrace sexism, racism and homophobia, the impacts of this behaviour, and into what we might do to reduce or eliminate such socialisations. These issues are explored in the context of violence as one example of men's assumed primacy. It introduces an approach to reawakening the caring masculine self, which the author refers to as ecological masculinism. |
