Notes:  Overview: This Australian report was prepared for the Australian Football League by the Australian Research Centre in Sex, Health and Society at LaTrobe University in Victoria. The report was commissioned to inform the development of future programs in the Australian Football League's "Respect and Responsibility" violence prevention program, which targets adult men involved in football, and men in the wider community.

The paper includes a literature review and discussion of the principles and various models of adult learning and behaviour change in sporting and other settings. Best practice models are identified on the basis of the literature review and evidence, including the Mentors in Violence Prevention Program (Katz 2003), The Men's Program (Foubert 1993) and the Rape Prevention Program for Men (Berkowitz 2004).
