Notes: | The purpose of this clinical dissertation was to identify, gather, and review peer-reviewed literature about treatment of LGBTQ IPV. A systematic literature review was completed and the search produced 9 articles meeting inclusion criteria. Study findings show that during the ten year period under review, empirical research focused primarily on the following three areas: (1) barriers to treatment; (2) attitudes of treatment providers toward LGBTQ IPV; and (3) mental health treatment policies, procedures, and protocols for LGBTQ IPV. This clinical dissertation described the results of the review and discusses gaps in the literature, as well as opportunities for future study." |
