Notes: | This campaign aimed to reduce the incidence of domestic violence in Queensland's Far North Region. Through television, radio and written media, potential offenders were encouraged to avoid any violent behaviour. The campaign was launched after breaches of Domestic Violence Protection Orders increased in northern Queensland, especially when it was noted that larger proportions of those breaches were from people of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent. Furthermore, since alcohol use and abuse were involved in most violent incidents, substance abuse was included as a component of the campaign. |
