Notes:  The poster which contains the words "sledging a woman? that's abuse", and has a photograph of Michael Slater, is a component of the NSW Government's Strategy to Reduce Violence Against Women. The campaign called 'Violence Against Women - It's Against the Rules' is designed to influence community attitudes, values, awareness and behaviour around violence against women. Specifically it seeks to enhance the community's capacity to challenge and confront the issues of violence and abuse. The campaign seeks to communicate a message that invites men to engage in the issue and discuss their role in reducing and preventing violence against women. There is a focus on men in sport because sport has a high profile in the community. It is an important mechanism to promote an anti-violence message because it is increasingly recognised as a powerful vehicle for social change.
