Notes:  This brief resource is a summary of a much longer report of the same name which looked at the situation of Indigenous homelessness in Tennant Creek and the surrounding area in the Northern Territory. The report used the Tennant Creek Women’s Refuge as a case study.

* The Women’s Refuge is severely limited in the service it can provide due to short-term funding cycles, operating in a region of limited accommodation options and prioritising women at high risk in periods of high demand
The Tennant Creek investigation is part of a larger project which examined Indigenous homelessness and service delivery within five regions of Australia and was commissioned by the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA).
