This Victorian booklet explains the court procedure for respondents when responding to an intervention order in the Family Violence Division of the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria, in Ballarat or Heidelberg. It explains what is different about the Family Violence Court Division, and outlines the help available (family violence defendant workers, legal services, interpreters, information and referral). It also refers to family law and criminal cases, and men’s family violence counselling program.
