dc.description.notes"Final Report"<br/ >"November 2009"<br/ >The Tasmanian government’s Safe At Home:initiative was implemented in 2004 with the aims of reducing family violence, changing offending behaviour and improving safety for affected adults and children. The strategy essentially promotes arrest, charge and prosecution of family violence offenders and sets up a range of legislative mechanisms to achieve this.<br/ ><br/ >This report seeks to establish the validity and reliability of RAST by analysing the incidents in which RAST was used by Tasmania Police. The analysis covered 5,271 incidents of family violence (committed by 3,320 individuals) occurring within the two year period from 2005-2007.<br/ ><br/ >Five recommendations are made to improve the use of RAST and to promote further research into understanding family violence and re-offending.en
