This study of elder abuse in Western Australia showed problems with the definition of elder abuse which required exploration; furthermore the area of elder abuse lacks conceptual clarity and tends to be poorly measured. Qualitative and quantitative data revealed that financial abuse was the most prevalent type of elder abuse. The study found that there was no cohesive approach to responding to elder abuse across government and non-government organisations.en
