This report examined the literature on disability and violence along with 86 case studies of Office of the Public Advocate clients with cognitive impairments who were victims of some form of violence, including sexual violence, carer violence and intimate partner violence. The author examined how disability services, family violence services, police and courts responded and includes service specific recommendations. Key findings indicated a lack of cross-sectoral collaboration and an increased risk of experiencing further violence when acts of violence were not responded to appropriately.en
