dc.description.notes | Also see Summary of Findings
This document reports on the findings from a pilot study of Bsafe in the Hume Region of Victoria initiated by Women's Health Goulburn North East and Victoria Police. Bsafe is a personal alarm system that when activated, triggers a police response. The system is designed to support women and children at risk of family violence from a breached intervention order (IVO) to remain safe in their home and community. The report includes a summary of the cost-benefit analysis, victim's experiences of violence, women's accounts of Bsafe benefits, key elements to successful implementation and an outline of an integrated response. Results indicate that the use of Bsafe reduced recidivism and supported women and children to remain in their homes and feel safe in their communities. Recommendations for further implementation are included. | en |
