| dc.description.notes | Presents the findings of the National Violence against Women Survey, a nationwide research project aimed at exploring the extent, nature and consequences of intimate partner violence in the US, drawing comparisons between the experiences of various cultural groups and examining some of the risk factors and/or injuries associated with intimate partner violence. Key findings of the survey with respect to prevalence, incidence and types of violence are identified and some disparities with previous findings are highlighted. Findings in relation to particular racial/ethnic groups, the timing of violence in relationships, frequency and duration of abuse and victims’ use of services are also discussed. The report concludes by summarising some of the policy implications of the research findings and making recommendations for future reform. | en |
