This report outlines the work that has been and is being undertaken by Noarlunga Health Services and Community Allied Health Division across the Onkaparinga region of South Australia to prevent and to address the impact of domestic violence. The strategic directions draw on the recommendations of the 2002 report. The Health Service is a lead agency in the Onkaparinga Collaborative Approach to the Prevention of Domestic Violence, involving extensive partnerships with other key agencies. The report includes approaches that are inclusive of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island communities, lesbian communities and people affected by mental illness. It contains recommendations for better evaluation and co ordination of services and for more training in areas of family violence.en
