See also 'Surveying the statistics report' in our Research & Resources database.<br/ >Aimed primarily at the provision of information on the availability of statistical data on domestic violence and the identification of gaps in existing research, this report utilises the Wentworth region as a case study to demonstrate the usefulness of a statistical profile of community violence for service providers. The regional statistical profile compiled is presented and explained and the role of various agencies involved, such as the police and DOCS, is discussed. Specific areas of need identified in the course of the research are set out as are some of the challenges associated with compiling comprehensive statistical data. The implications of the findings for policy, practice and research, both in the region and generally, are also addressed and a select bibliography included.en
