Chapter 1 examines the history and purposes of the Child Death Review Team, their key functions and how these functions compare with similar bodies internationally. The methodology used to identify patterns and trends is described in Chapter 2. The following chapters describe and analyse the data collected with respect to incidence, prevalence, geographic distribution and major causes of death.
