Notes: | Presents the findings of a research project conducted in Scotland, aimed at exploring the prevalence, nature, frequency and seriousness of domestic violence perpetrated against men, the perspectives of victims and the adequacy of available services. The report provides a summary of the key literature and research on the topic, and an analysis of statistical data collected by the Scottish Police and the 2000 Scottish Crime Survey, and documents narrative accounts provided by male victims of domestic abuse. Findings of interviews conducted with service providers are also presented. Some of the recurrent themes which emerged from the research, limitations of the study and directions for future research and service development are addressed in the final chapter. |
