In 1995 the Commonwealth Government funded two pilot projects within existing Commonwealth-funded organisations to develop effective responses to family violence. The purpose of the project was to develop integrated approaches that dealt with issues of violence in families as they presented primarily in the marriage/relationship counselling programme. In addition, an ethno-specific group for men who abused their partners was to be developed and delivered for and in cooperation with the Vietnamese community. This report details the outcomes and implications of the programmes.en
