Annie North Inc. was one of seven organisations funded under the Partnerships Against Domestic Violence initiative through the Victorian Department of Human Services to document good practice in the 'Supporting Children and Young People affected by Family Violence Project'. Annie North provides short-term crisis accommodation through refuge and post-refuge transitional support through the 'community connections' programme. Work influenced by the principles of social justice; feminist understandings of power imbalances; access and equity; cultural inclusiveness; and community development. Describes in detail how it has developed its service to meet the needs of children and young people who are seen as service users in their own right. Describes the use of 'letters of closure' to acknowledge what clients have achieved, with examples. Also provides formats used for recording.
