Describes a study of the coverage of domestic and sexual violence in NSW undergraduate educational programmes which prepare students for entry to the health and human services professions. Twenty-five professional preparation programmes located in the nine metropolitan and rural universities and three TAFE centres were surveyed by questionnaire and interview: three medical schools, eight psychology courses, six nursing courses, five degree courses in social work and a sample of three TAFE welfare courses. Outlines the findings about the coverage of these issues and the barriers and opportunities to increasing this. Includes the questionnaire used. This was the first stage of a two stage project. The second stage is planned to build on this first stage in implementing strategies to increase the undergraduate educational coverage of sexual and domestic violence in relevant courses.en
