This report presents the findings of a US study which examined the frequency and consequences of intimate partner sexual assault among 148 women compared to a similar group of physically abused women who had not been sexually assaulted by their intimate partner. The study examined several factors including demographics, type and frequency of sexual assault, use of protection orders, relationships circumstances, perpetrator behaviours, victim help-seeking and impacts on women’s health and safety, outcomes from working justice agencies, and the impact on children in the family.en
