dc.description.notes | General Overview: The Family Violence Best Practice Principles are part of the Australian Family Court's <i>Family Violence Strategy</i/> and were launched by the Attorney-General on 6 March 2009. The principles guide decision makers in dealing with matters where family violence or the risk of family violence, or abuse or the risk of abuse has been alleged.<br/ ><br/ >a) in parenting disputes where family violence or abuse, or risk of family violence or abuse, is alleged; and more specifically<br/ >e) where findings of family violence or abuse, or an unacceptable risk of family violence or abuse, have been made<br/ >f) where the Court orders that a child spend time with a parent against whom findings have been made that allegations of family violence or abuse are proven, or against whom findings have been made that the parent presents an unacceptable risk of behaving violently or abusively or<br/ >Judges are also directed to: complete court processes within specific time periods; find out about locally available facilities that may assist those who have been violent to their partners and/or their children; and explain in their judgments how their findings on the issue of family violence or abuse influenced their decision. | en |
