The overall purpose for this initiative is to highlight the Queensland Government’s approach to responding to and dealing with domestic and family violence. Focus is given to three broad outcomes: reducing the incidence and impact of domestic and family violence; preventing domestic and family violence; and providing co-ordinated, quality services. Outlined for each outcome is the means in which it can be achieved and the activities to be undertaken, with performance indicators given as a measurement tool. Further areas discussed are changes to legislation, establishment of specialist services and counselling, exchange of information, community education, recognition of diversity and a collaborative and co-ordinated approach by government departments and community services.en
