Notes: | Presents the findings of recent Queensland research into the prevalence of domestic violence injuries according to sex, age, alcohol consumption and cause of injury as measured in one of the five Cape York communities studied. The majority of persons presenting with domestic violence injuries were females aged between 16 and 40. Alcohol-related domestic violence injuries were most commonly head injuries for both males and females and were most often inflicted by way of unarmed assault. |
