Why a Family Safety Hub?<br/ >In late June 2016, the ACT Government committed to a $21 million family violence package addressing major issues in addressing family violence in the ACT. The<br/ >ACT Government released a comprehensive response to family violence which responded to series of reports. The reports included the Glanfield Inquiry, the Death<br/ >Review and the Gap Analysis.<br/ >In August 2016, ThinkPlace ran a half-day workshop for the Office of the Coordinator General for Family Safety to progress key work in the area of the family safety<br/ >hub concept. The workshop brought together the public, private and non-government sectors to collaboratively co-design this initiative.<br/ >An outcome of the workshop was support for the Family Safety Hub to be progressed, ready for further consideration by end of year. In response to that outcome the<br/ >Office of the Coordinator General for Family Safety Justice worked with stakeholders to develop principles to guide a co-design process and is leading that process<br/ >with the sector to develop and test a proposition for the hub that increases the effectiveness of existing services.en
