Project title: Safe and secure housing pathways for women and children without permanent residency status escaping family violence

This project is underpinned by the recognition that women and children without Permanent Residency (PR) who are escaping family violence are far more likely to find themselves placed in non-specialist emergency accommodation (i.e. hotel/motel and other ad hoc forms of accommodation) with no income, support services or exit pathways, leading to a much greater risk of homelessness or feeling forced to return to unsafe accommodation. This project will establish an evidence base that clearly articulates the systemic problems and identifies potential solutions to break this endemic cycle and achieve safer long-term housing outcomes for this cohort of women and children.
