Notes:  Presented at the 9th Australasian Conference on Child Abuse and Neglect, Many Voices Many Choices, these overheads provide an explanation of the concept of safety planning and discuss the aims of a research project that explored the different strategies employed by various agencies in developing safety plans. The social and legal context for implementing safety strategies in NSW is considered and some of the problems which can arise are identified. Examples of innovative safety planning strategies being tested throughout NSW are also included.
