Notes:	The author examines the particular circumstances that Aboriginal lesbians face when experiencing domestic violence in lesbian relationships. The closed family and community connections prevent public lesbian relationships, access to aboriginal counsel, and contact with Aboriginal lesbians who have experienced domestic violence in lesbian relationships. Additionally, Aboriginal lesbians endure the lack of services to support their needs. Discrimination, white prejudice, fears and disbelief in the authorities dissuades them from seeking mainstream government assistance. Their responses and issues of isolation, racism within the Lesbian Community and culture are discussed. Three case studies of violence in lesbian relationships where one or both partners are Aboriginal are presented to exemplify the different experiences that Aboriginal lesbians undergo.
