Outlines the methodology and findings of a research project aimed at both exploring the philosophies, concepts and practice base guiding child protection and domestic violence agencies’ interventions and also promoting the development of safety plans that recognise the rights of women and children. The paper concludes by presenting some of the ongoing issues identified by practitioners in the course of the interviews and focus groups and by making recommendations for future research and service development.
