The National Data Collection Project was an initiative of NASASV (National Association of Services Against Sexual Violence). This paper presents a brief background of NASASV, and the National Data Collection Project, which aimed to develop a national database on the issue of sexual violence that would enhance understanding and contribute to community education on the issue of sexual violence. The paper looks at the development of the tool, the results of the research, the ongoing potential of the tool and the future potential of national data collection.
