The Connections programme is a partnership between the South Western Sydney Area Health Service and LifeCare Family Intervention Services. It focuses exclusively on rebuilding damaged relationships between mother and child following domestic violence. It addresses the ongoing healing process of mother and child following the crisis stage of living directly with domestic violence. One feature of the programme is the combining of child and adult activities, so that the mother can hear how the child thinks and feels. This paper looks the development of the programme as well as evaluation and outcomes.
