Notes:  Provides a background to the structure and purpose of the ‘Ending Family Violence Program’, highlighting the severity and scope of violence against women and children in Indigenous communities. Notes previous attempts to address the issue through implementation of recommendations of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody, including the introduction of offender programmes in corrective institutions. Outlines the proposed module for the programme which is offered to sentenced offenders of domestic/family violence and runs for 6 weeks. A week-by-week description of the programme, covering themes, objectives information provided and major issues covered is then outlined. A central theme of the initiative is that perpetrators must be made accountable and take responsibility for changing their violent behaviour.
