Notes:  In this slide presentation we are taken through the process which resulted in the report “Grief, shame and pride : a study of the impact of family violence and the strengths of the Ceduna community to act against it”. Binell discusses the aims of the research and describes the design and methodology used as well as the difficulties encountered in practice. This incorporated interviews with members of the Aboriginal community and key Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal stakeholders. As a result of the project the Ceduna community was able to reach a new understanding of family violence and the research pointed the way to a holistic community way of responding to the issue of family violence.
