Notes:  This paper presents the methodology and partial findings of a study that explores the role of experiences – from work situations or own lived life – in social work with abused women. Around nine informants with or without relevant professional education who work in specialised services/emergency centres in Norway were interviewed. Some statements derived from the first interviews are cited. These quotations refer to service providers' interpretation of self-experienced incidents; experience acquired through practice; and the effect of the stories. The semi-structured questionnaire utilised during interviews is included.
