Notes:  Reports some of the findings of a study implemented in the Family Court of Western Australia in July 2001. The objective of the project was to evaluate the efficacy of the management approach to cases where domestic violence, child sexual abuse and child abuse were alleged. The Columbus project is based in the Magellan project conducted in two Registries of the Family Court of Australia. This paper describes the outcomes of Stage I, which included twenty-five cases, and assesses the success of the methodology. Despite the apparent high costs involved, about three quarters of the families in the project had achieved positive results by the time this paper was written.
