Notes:  Presented at the AIC Crime Prevention Conference, this paper outlines the background to, rationale and key elements of the Strong Families Model, a Western Australian initiative aimed at increasing the capacity of agencies to provide a coordinated and collaborative response to the multi-faceted needs of families and to develop a case management approach which adequately addresses these needs. An overview of the implementation and management strategy for the project and the preliminary evaluation results are provided and some of the key factors contributing to the success of the programme identified.
