Notes:  An overview of the Eurobodalla Maternal and Child Support Group, the Granny Program. This project was initiated in the Eurobodalla Shire as a preventative measure aimed at reducing post-natal depression and other problems experienced by new mothers associated with a lack support of family, lack of public transport, limitations of community support systems and a transient population in the Shire. One goal of the programme is to decrease child abuse and domestic violence. Volunteers were screened; they attended a workshop and were matched with mothers identified through various means. Assessment of the programme reports encouraging results and literature that supports the projects goals is also cited.
