Notes:  The data presented in this electronic publication was obtained by the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) from its Crime Victimisation Survey conducted from July 2011 to June 2012 using the ABS Multipurpose Household Survey (MPHS).

This resource is divided into five sections: introduction, personal crime (including sexual assault), household crime, perceptions of and contact with the justice system and crime victimisation in my state.

Data is assembled in data cubes which are in the form of Excel files. Information is provided in total and by state or territory. A summary of findings, explanatory notes, abbreviations, technical notes and a glossary are also included.
