Notes:  Overview: These guidelines from Victoria, Australia were developed by a 22 member Expert Advisory Group, to be used as a tool for reflective practice by individual practitioners and organisations. The guidelines were developed following reforms to family violence responses in Victoria and form part of the service agreement for services funded under the Department of Human Services' Integrated Family Violence Services for Women and Children.

The resource provides background, definitions and information regarding the incidence and impact of family violence, before outlining the principles, values and frameworks for effective practice. The reform and legislative context is outlined and the guidelines for the foundations, phases of direct practice and organisational support of practice are detailed.
