Title: Listening to what matters : report on the partner contact component of a men's behaviour change program
Authors: Howard, Jo
Wright, Michelle
Keywords: Prevention
Year: 2008
Publisher: Inner South Community Service Inc., St Kilda
Notes:  General Overview: :This Australian report evaluates the partner contact component of a men's behaviour change program.

Discussion: :The authors relied upon interviews with 21 women whose partners or ex-partners had participated in the Men's Responsibility Program, as well as interviews with staff and service providers and a literature review. Their aim was to evaluate the service provided to women through the partner contact component in order to inform the development of standards of practice. The most important finding was that women felt validated by the partner contact worker. They did not necessarily feel safer but felt they had an enhanced sense of wellbeing and enhanced understanding of domestic violence. The authors concluded that partner contact is a vital part of men's behaviour change programs.
