Year: | 2003 |
Publisher: | British Columbia Institute Against Family Violence |
Notes: | Commissioned by the Victim Services Division of the British Columbia Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General (Canada), this literature review and annotated bibliography is aimed primarily at improving the development of risk assessment guidelines for victims of domestic and family violence. The paper begins by presenting some general assumptions and principles that guided the review. Victim factors, child-related factors, abuser-related factors and system-related factors identified in the literature are then summarised, and a model for risk assessment and safety planning is suggested. Ways of increasing women’s support and resources are also considered. The annotated bibliography is supplemented by a list of key references and selected websites. |
