Notes:  General Overview: This is Victoria's ten year State plan to address family violence in Aboriginal communities. The strategy was prepared by Indigenous organisations, senior representatives of government departments and representatives from the 10 regions across Victoria, in response to concerns about levels of violence in Indigenous communities.

Discussion: The document provides an overview of the strategy, a discussion of the vision, guiding principles and values, some background to the strategy and of the achievements to date in addressing family violence. The strategy is ordered according to eight objectives: cultural safety; healthy families; education awareness and prevention; safety for victims; accountability; healing, service capability; and research and evaluation. A series of case studies provides examples of different activities and strategies that illustrate the guiding principles and values of the plan.

* Partnership, transparency and accountability
