Johnson, Judy
Volant, Anne
Keywords: Animal abuse
Year: 2004
Publisher: Australian Psychological Society (APS)
Citation: Vol. 55, August 2003 supplement
Notes:  This series of overheads provides a definition of animal abuse and reviews existing research into the incidence, prevalence, nature and causes of animal abuse and its perceived relationship to human violence. The methodology and findings of a study conducted by the authors are then presented and it is suggested that there is a significant correlation between family violence and animal abuse. Argues demonstrated co-morbidity supports the hypothesis that animal abuse might be considered a predictor of other forms of violence.
