Notes:	This educational package provides session outlines and resources to explore sexual violence and abusive relationships with young people aged 15-18 years. The package is divided into six chapters including overheads, handouts and comprehensive facilitator notes introducing the package and highlighting issues facilitators should be aware of in delivering the Kinks and Bends programme. Creative activities are described to encourage discussion, challenge thinking, provide information and promote problem solving about situations concerning sexual violence and abusive relationships. The key themes of unwanted sexual experiences, peer pressure, the role of alcohol and other drugs in forced sexual experiences, recognising the warning signs of an abusive relationship, survival strategies and giving and getting assistance are explored. The package is accompanied by the video Date Rape… What’s that? which examines issues concerning consent, drink spiking and what young people can do to stop date rape happening. The messages of ‘it is not okay to use force or pressure someone to have sex’ and that ‘sexual assault is a crime’ are highlighted. The discussion guide accompanying the package includes facilitator notes and specific questions to promote discussion. Information about numbers to call for help are included.
