dc.description.notes	This paper examines themes relating to domestic violence during and after a disaster including: the causes of the increase in violence after a disaster; the impacts and recovery for individual victims; impacts, responses and recovery of organisations; and preparedness and planning for the increase in service needs of domestic violence victims. There is discussion of the changes have occurred in the last decade in understanding and responding to increased domestic violence after natural disasters. The paper aims to assist organisations and practitioners to be better prepared to plan and respond to increasing service demands.	en
