Specialist Homelessness Services Clients Experiencing Family, Domestic and Sexual Violence: Interactions with Income Support and Out-of-Home Care

Abstract

This report provides an exploratory analysis of linked data concerning clients of specialist homelessness services (SHS) who have experienced family and domestic violence (FDV). Key findings indicate that a significant portion of these clients receive income support, with many being single mothers on Parenting Payment Single. The report also highlights the extended duration of income support received by FDV clients compared to non-FDV clients, as well as their interactions with out-of-home care (OOHC). It emphasizes the need for expanded data coverage to enhance FDV research insights.
