dc.description.abstract | This guideline is designed to improve the responses to women who have experienced non-fatal strangulation and/or sexual choking, potentially leading to an acquired brain injury (ABI). It provides evidence-based protocols and referral pathways for service providers working with women in the context of domestic, family, and sexual violence, and for those who engage in sexual choking. The guidelines emphasize the importance of culturally safe and client-centered approaches, ensuring that interventions are accessible and appropriate. Key components include initial medical responses, safety assessments, and long-term support strategies, all aimed at reducing harm and promoting recovery for women impacted by these forms of violence. | en_US |
