This independent review assesses the operation of the amendments made to the Fair Work Act 2009 (Cth) by the Fair Work Amendment (Paid Family and Domestic Violence Leave) Act 2022. The review focuses on the impact of the paid leave entitlement on small businesses, sole traders, and people experiencing family and domestic violence (FDV). Drawing on quantitative and qualitative research, the report identifies gaps and challenges in the implementation of paid FDV leave. Recommendations include increasing awareness and support for small businesses, improving guidance on evidentiary requirements, and fostering broader community actions to integrate workplace policies with societal efforts to combat FDV.en_US
