dc.description.abstract | This report examines the dynamics of dating app facilitated sexual violence (DAFSV) through the lens of routine activity theory, focusing on how user behaviours influence vulnerability. Based on a nationally representative sample of Australian dating app users, it identifies key risk factors such as prolific platform use, information sharing, and cross-platform communication. The study explores how these behaviours increase visibility and accessibility to motivated offenders, both online and in person, and discusses preventative measures, including Safety by Design principles and industry codes. It provides insights into victimisation trends, emphasising the role of platforms and governments in enhancing user safety. | en_US |
