Abstract:  This journal article examines trauma- and violence-informed care (TVIC) as a critical approach to addressing intimate partner violence (IPV). It highlights how TVIC integrates trauma-informed principles with an equity-oriented lens to address structural violence, including sexism, racism, and poverty, that intersect with IPV experiences. By exploring systematic reviews and critical narrative literature, the authors advocate for interventions grounded in an ecological framework. The findings underscore the need for survivor-centred protocols and structural accountability in IPV prevention, with attention to gendered norms and inequities. This equity-oriented lens has the potential to transform IPV intervention design, policy, and practice.
